As part of employability support for schools during Covid-19, the EBA delivered several virtual workshops in collaboration with local businesses and Southwark Council Scholars. Young people received these webinars with exceptional interest and the EBA team is now preparing for the new school year ahead by making even more projects go virtual.
The ‘Covid-19’s Impact on World Economics’ webinar was delivered in collaboration with JP Morgan to several schools in the borough. This was a huge success amongst the students and was followed by talks on careers in Law and Architecture delivered by Southwark Scholars.
With employability skills being more critical than ever, the EBA is currently working to deliver employability support for schools virtually. We will continue to run online workshops with our business partners but will also introduce virtual mock interviews for students to learn and practise their interview skills. Other projects we are keen to deliver from October 2020 are virtual Work Experience and possibly virtual apprenticeships.
We are now looking for employers who would like to join this initiative and help young people improve their employability skills. We also welcome and encourage dialogue with schools about other initiatives that would help boost students’ employability.
If you would like to know more about our upcoming projects and/ or would like to work with us, please get in touch here.
